Blue-Tongued Skink

This guy lives alongside the old driveway in Canberra.  According to the Animal Bytes website, Blue-Tongued Skinks grow to 60cm and the head is not readily discernible from the Death Adder's (the ninth-most deadly snake in the world, which of course is found in Australia).  As a defense its tail can detach, which then keeps on wriggling for 10 minutes as a decoy, allowing the skink to make a clean getaway.
