Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge

This shot was taken with the 20D on a very windy evening.  I had to hold the tripod down with one hand, shoot with the other, and ignore my hair which was whipping all around my face and the lens.  This was also prior to my purchase of a cable release—in fact it prompted my purchase of a cable release (and a ponytail holder)—but it turned out fairly good under the circumstances.

Affectionately known as the Coat Hanger, the Sydney Harbour Bridge (not to mention the Sydney Opera House) is one of the iconic symbols of Australia.  Go on a BridgeClimb while you're here, but remember to book it well in advance.  For this shot I'm standing toward the end of MacQuarie Point (about 33°51′37.94″S, 151°13′16.61″E) (Google Maps) and looking northwest.

If you look to the far right side of the bridge, inside of the pylons, and just below the steel girders at the waterline, you'll see a really bright area of light.  This is Luna Park, a historic amusement park in North Sydney on Milsons Point.  The next two pictures were taken from there.
