Koala, Cape Otway, Victoria

This guy was hanging on for dear life in the wind and occasional rain, in a Eucalypt along Otway Lighthouse Road (38°50′57.38″S, 143°32′10.50″E) (Google Maps).  At one point he lost his balance and had to grab for the branch.  With his back to the wind, his little ears are being blown forward.

From appearances, you might think that Koala fur is a bit stiff and wiry, but it's softer than the softest down pillow, and a dream to touch.  (I'll note here that I've only touched a Koala at a zoo that allowed it—for the most part it's not allowed, and generally ill-advised.)
